Gears of war pc reloaded12/27/2022 ![]() Seeing them scratching around between tank tops and suntan creams has a certain effect. The combination of herds of zombies and resorts is truly successful. It went better for console users due to the nature of a closed system but it was clear from the first hours of launch that a lot of work had to be done to fix all the flaws in the game. Anything you can think of in terms of bugs, Dead Island was affected: desktop crashes, synchrony losses, connection drops, objects that could be replicated infinitely by exchanging them between players, characters clipped between walls, zombies stuck in confined spaces and various version incompatibilities between the game and various combinations of cards videos, have unleashed the right doses of flame on official and non-official forums. Unfortunately, the publication was anything but roses and it is no exaggeration to say that the PC version can be considered, at least at the time of launch, one of the most buggy in history. “The release was anything but roses and the PC version was one of the most buggy in history” For this reason it is advisable to proceed with the purchase in the company of at least a couple of other friends with whom to face the game in its entirety, also taking into consideration the fact that the best of oneself Dead Island it gives it if faced at high levels of difficulty. ![]() Nowadays the situation has changed and it is not always easy to come across a player standing at the same point in history as us with whom to break rotten heads in joy. ![]() The situation is different for the PC version: close to the exit the servers were full and for a few weeks Dead Island has held firmly in the top ten of the ten most played titles on Steam. Sales on PS3 were also very similar which, although lower, place the power relations between the two communities practically on par. The community that had less problems of “population” was certainly the Xbox 360 that even today, with its one million and a half copies sold, allows you to find active lobbies almost always. The launch occurred simultaneously for all three formats: the community has therefore fragmented into three completely different environments and the frequency with which you can find casual friends to play varies greatly. Taken into consideration Dead Island nine months after publication, we can say that the situation has remained the same regardless of the platform used. “Dead Island nine months after publication offers an overall unchanged picture” A nice novelty that has contributed to the success of a game that may be repetitive but still well structured and fun like few others. The missions of the main plot can be alternated with numerous secondary quests, playable with friends or even in the company of complete strangers, thanks to an automatic lobby system that automatically makes us enter the party of those who are playing our same missions. The variety in terms of sidearms is almost embarrassing: better decapitate a zombie with a sickle or a kitchen cleaver? The second noteworthy feature concerns the singleplayer mode: instead of the usual campaign (very short) or missions completely unrelated to each other in terms of plot, Dead Island presents a very long story divided into three large scenarios that give the impression of playing a survival horror version of Grand Theft Auto. The former come in numerous variations, which as the game progresses can be enhanced by combining them with numerous objects: hooking a circular blade to a baseball bat may be unusual but undoubtedly has a certain charm. The reasons for this exploit are to be found in the fact that it is not “only” a shooter but, on the occasion of the clashes, the use of hand-to-hand weapons is put in the foreground compared to firearms. Although this is not a title to be counted among the best in the absolute sense of 2011, it has rightly enjoyed some success with audiences and critics with three million copies sold. Last fall, instead, it hit the shelves of stores and Steam Dead Island, a curious cross between a vacation in the tropics in a luxury resort and a carnage worthy of the best zombie apocalypse. Shooting a zombie grappling with a companion is always good and fair. For some years now, the association between zombies and cooperative video games has been synonymous with Left 4 Dead: Valve’s shooter released in 2009, closely followed by Left 4 Dead 2, represented a point of no return for a much loved genre.Įvidently the concept of pairing legions of the undead has captured the imagination of the developers and that is why the cooperative shooters worthy of the name do not fail to offer a zombie mode as a main course or side dish, as Call of Duty teaches: Black Ops, Red Dead Redemption or the very recent Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City.
